I am an active diver, with over 1000 dives, over 800 of them in the Santa Barbara Channel and Channel Islands.  I work as a volunteer diver for Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, and for NOAA in the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary.  I'm a professor of physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I teach physics courses at all levels, and do research in astrophysics: on gravitational waves and cosmology, wave propagation, noise, and pulsars.
