Macrocystis kelp on a bottom of coralline algae

I'm posting archival images from the kelp forest at https://www.kelpscape.com/portfolio-collections/my-portfolio I haven't previously shared the above image, so far as I know. A friend told me that the green strands of Giant Kelp above a bottom of red Coralline Algae looked likeNeptune's gateway. The image is from Sutil Island, just off Santa Barbara Island, in September 2003. I made this with film, using a Nikon F5 with a 20mm lens, in a Subal housing with two Sea & Sea YS-120 strobes.
