Infant Lionfish

I spotted this tiny lionfish on the sand, near Anilao Pier. The fish was quite patient and allowed me to approach. Lionfish are useful predators in the Indo-Pacific, but have escaped from aquariums into the Atlantic, where they reproduce rapidly and displace local fish. They threaten to become "kudzu of the ocean". Now they have been seen in the Mediterranean as well.
